The client is a home furnishing brand. They provide affordable design and comfort to people around the world.
Challenge
Their web and mobile purchasing applications are extensively used. However, behind the scenes of the user’s order lies a complex process supported by an outdated solution. At the time, they had several systems that were separate, and that wrote in old and unrelated databases. Their efficiency and productiveness were affected negatively by all of it. They needed optimization and improved efficiency.
While the existing platform was still operational, it was time for an upgrade and the development of a new, modern web application and system using the latest technologies.
Solution
Our engineering team was working on a single source solution. The goal was to pull data out of various systems and databases, to filter and clean the data and to build a new unified database model and be available on Google Cloud. The team was working on unifying gradually the diverse systems. The new solution had to continue to listen, to change data, capture events from the old databases and replicate those in the new database model. This was the first step in the further development of new web application and systems.
